Explore Your Senses in Thoughtful Garden Design

Our gardens offer much more than curb appeal for our homes. Gardens are our sanctuaries, providing destinations to escape the outside world to find calm and appreciate the world's natural beauty. They can also be places for fun and food. Allow us to tailor a garden design to fit your specific home and needs.

Plant Beds

Plantings offer a wealth of benefit to homes. Not only do they enhance and beautify, but they can also provide functional benefits, like contributing to the cooling of homes in summer and added insulation in winter.

From appropriate soil preparation and edging installation to proper plant selection and installation, we have the expertise and knowledge to help you choose plants that are easy to take care of and will perform as desired. We especially believe in the importance and value of native plants, and we integrate those into our designs as often as we can.

Edible Gardening

Being able to grow your own food is a fulfilling — and delicious — feeling. However, we also know that vegetable gardening can mean different things depending on whether you’re in an urban or suburban setting.

We’ve worked with many homeowners to incorporate edible plants into their landscapes — doing everything from including perennials like asparagus or strawberries, or dotting in annuals like cucumbers and tomatoes into existing perennial beds. We also have experience with construction raised beds and vertical gardens for more ergonomic comfort and control of soils.

Children’s Gardens

Home landscapes can be a fun place for children. The placement of natural elements — boulders for climbing, lengths of timber for balancing — can be incorporated into most landscapes, creating a playful functionality while still blending into the landscape. Additions like sandboxes, teepees, and art walls can create destinations in the yard for creative play, while raised bed vegetable gardens can be a place for learning and interaction. We’re able to incorporate these kinds of elements in a way that plays well with the existing landscape.

“Fitchburg Bird Enthusiast” Our clients really value the meditative value of their backyard. The sound of moving water drowns undesirable traffic sounds, provides a relaxing therapeutic benefit and serves as a natural draw for birds. We designed a simple pondless feature that included a low waterfall short stream bed and very shallow wading area for birds.

Water Features

Water features can be a beautiful addition to your landscape. Our expertise covers a wide variety of elements — fountainscapes, pondless features, and koi ponds. Many folks think that water features are a lot of work — the truth is that most of them are very easy to maintain! The sound of the running water is soothing to the senses, and it’s also a draw for birds and wildlife.

Our trusted manufacturer for water features products is Aquascape.

Sights, sounds, smells, and tastes in the garden provide a wealth of therapeutic elements.  Most communities in the Madison area allow homeowners to keep chickens.  Chickens are extremely easy keepers and so much fun.   Each chicken's unique personality provides a great deal of enjoyment.  Here is a Cuckoo Maran in business owner Eric’s backyard.

Therapeutic Elements

Our homes should be our sanctuaries — and that means that our home landscapes should also be therapeutic destinations. Specific varieties, colors, fragrances, and the movement of plants, trees, and flowers all play into the feeling of a particular environment and can enliven or relax the senses. Our design team has the background to incorporate these elements into the landscape to provide therapeutic relief for the homeowner.
